Where and how did you come up with the idea for Starnight Starbright? I thought up the character of Trickstar some time after Ricky's sister drew a rather cute picture of my character Trickery. Trixie's original concept followed suit and its been 2-4 years of working on it in my head. What inspired you to sit down and write Starnight Starbright? Well... I wanted to make it a spin off of Destiny Dreams 5, but I couldn't bring myself to write it without some kind of schedule. That's why I chose it for MoW. What is your favorite genre? Why? Well, I like many genres so I don't really have a good answer. When I write I like to incorporate as many genres as I can usually mixing adventure, fantasy, sci-fi, comedy, and romance. What book, movie, or video game do you think is the best example of that genre? Why? Well I'm not sure... the Dragon Ball Series has all that mixed together and many of my inspirations came from shows and books I experienced when I was a kid, so every time I see something new, I take inspiration from it, so I really don't have an opinion since I like a lot that I read. Who is your favorite author? Why? What book do you think is that author's best? Hm... that's a hard one too since I'm not one to pick favorites and even if I pick an author they usually author a series. Currently I'm reading Brian Jacques' Redwall series. I don't really see books in the series as separate books, but as chapters in the same story. Are any of the characters in Starnight Starbright based on anybody you know online or in real life? I don't think I made any characters based off of people I know, but many characters are based off other characters from things. Tricks is based off Ricky's Sister's picture of Trickery, Vam is based off of my Mavrick character which is kinda a bit like me. Stuff like that. Did you learn anything while writing Starnight Starbright? Editing is your friend and also that some stories require multiple drafts to completely flesh out. Did you ever get writer's block while writing Starnight Starbright? How did you overcome it? Indeed, mostly near the end at the climatic ending thing. What I did was put on some music that fit the scene and went somewhere with no distractions. What was the hardest scene to write in Starnight Starbright? That would be the ending. I'm no good at writing climaxes (at least I don't think so) so that part was sorta difficult. What was your favorite scene to write in Starnight Starbright? That's kinda like asking my favorite child, but I'll take a shot at it. I like the story as a whole, but I think my favorite part to write was probably in the beginning where I set up the whole rhyme thing. All that stuff just came to my head when I said. "I'm using this poem for the title, why don't I make a variation of it to be in the series" I also like fleshing out the Magi Project. If you were to go back and rewrite Starnight Starbright, what would you change, if anything? I would make it more episodic in nature. I think Starnight Starbright would work better as an animated series or graphic novel thing of sorts. What other projects are you working on right now? I am currently working on writing The Final War, the last chapter of Destiny Dreams (it is a Role Play), but I'm also writing a manga version of Destiny Dreams called "Destiny of Dreams" but progress is slow due to some real life stuff on the illustrator's side. I also like to tinker around with game making programs like RPG Maker and the like (just downloaded a Phoenix Wright Casemaker program so I'll probably try my hand at writing mysteries.) Do you have any ideas for a new fiction? If Final War doesn't work, I'll finish it as a fiction, but otherwise I don't really have any idea what I'll do for a fiction. Maybe I'll do a prequel story to my webcomic "The Adventures of Mavrick and Indigo" if I ever have the time and inspiration. Anything else you'd like to say about Starnight Starbright? I hope to go somewhere with this somehow and I hope you all enjoy reading it. |
