When a mysterious group of individuals begin kidnapping characters across the VGRP worlds, it's up to a group of stalwart creators to find and rescue their own characters! [Special thanks to Matthias for the description.] Started on January 20, 2006, and finished on October 14, 2006, this RP is one of the few RP adventures to use actual board users as the main characters!

    Creator's Quest...
My first directed RP to go all the way. That in itself means a lot to me.
Not to say it was a perfect experience. I definitely had my down points, as well as my up points, both as an roleplayer and a director.
Initially, reaction and participation was very strong. I felt the first act was moving along quite smoothly. Then, it seemed around the time of the board transfer started, people started dropping off the face of the earth, and the momentum ground to a halt around act 2.
It was around act 2 that problems started being experienced. Besides the main villains of the act, the Takht-Verbotens, there really wasn't much else to do in the act. I'm sure many will agree the second act is the weakest point of the RP.
I also am disheartened that the creators themselves didn't seem to get all that much character development. This RP had a unique setback I knew might happen, but was still unprepared from when it came along: how do you develop a character when that character is the roleplayer themselves? It's nearly impossible to do, and in the cases of the roleplayers who weren't around that much, it often times left me in the dark as to what to do with their characters.
You'll notice I tried to incorporate the ideas of all, from Zuntrios's chopper to Wizard's Frank sub-plot. I may have been at times too lenient, because in the case of one MGDK, it lead to unwanted godmodding and confusing posts.
I'm happy to say I feel things picked up in act 3, though the ending still doesn't quite pack that dramatic punch I wanted it to.
I thank everyone for sticking this out with me. I know this RP was far from perfect, but hey, I'm still learning as a director, so I can only use this as stepping ground to improve my skills. And I can't complain about that.

Wizard

The Creator's Quest would have to be one of my favoritest stories, for many reasons. First off, I had an enjoyable influence in my own realms, and the majority of my plans functioned as planned. And that makes me happy! Secondly, it showed me how much inspiration could improve my mood. During the last third of the story, I had ideas up to ying-yang, and to me, most of them seemed like good ideas. And as I thought of these ever-expanding ideas, a smile came to my face. The third, and most important reason for my enjoyment of this story:
"Holly says she's deeply sorry about Holly..."
"...not before taking his Psycho durgs..."
"...we are no longer generals or Rotaria..."
The moral of the story is: Typos are funny! (Sorry if I offended you, Matthias.)
Most certainly however, not everything went as planed. During the story, I constantly misinterpreted things (such as thinking of different notes written by separate people), as people misinterpreted me (Dan thought that the pistol I was using was enormous (I blame sloppy writing.)) It tells me I should probably double-check my reading/writing.
Anyhow, my favorite part of the story would be the second half. Yes, I know it's a broad term ( ), but it describes it nicely for me. Favorite character? What, are you nutcases? I'm not going to judge my brethren!
...Ahem. Well, thank you very much Matthias, for creating this wonderful thing.
    Also rocks.

Ricky

This was a very interesting concept for a role-play, but it was surprisingly difficult to write for. I was very paranoid of stepping on someone's toes by portraying them incorrectly, and this hindered me greatly when making posts. Matthias divided the story into three acts- Act One went well for the most part. Act Two, however, went very slowly due to a lack of direction (apparently, "go here" wasn't quite enough) and a lack of ideas on everyone's part. Act Three went a lot better, and the character battles were very inspiring, but I found myself having a hard time to post for the final battle- again, paranoia of screwing up the other characters caused this. Overall, it was a fun role-play, and a very good idea. Congratulations, Matthias, on seeing this through to completion!

Trauma Advocate     Creator's Quest was a very different RP from most others, so of course I liked it. I think some members could have tried a little harder to set their characters apart from the others, but it was still a lot of fun. *My favorite scene was where we fought our own characters. It was an excellent idea and worked splendidly. I was a bit unsatisfied with my epilogue. I may have messed that part up.
Anyway, congrats on finishing your RP, Matthias!

Trauma Advocate was the third person to join Creator's Quest. He wrote 7.88% of the story, doing so in eighteen posts.

MythGuyDK     I consider this the first RP I've been in (although I participated lightly in a few before this...). I thought that this RP was real fun but it seemed to move a bit fast, there was no real moments for character development or humor. But it was fun none-the-less. I'd like to spend the rest of this to say a few words to the fellow roleplayers who participated. I'm sorry for taking things too far on a few occasions and in the future I will try not to do so.

MythGuyDK was the fourth person to join Creator's Quest. He wrote 7.54% of the story, doing so in twenty-three posts.

Zuntrios     All in all, this was a fun RP to do. It was both a little easier and more difficult to participate in than I expected, though. It was easier in the fact that we were the main characters, meaning I didn't have to go through all the effort of creating a personality, but instead, could use my own. It was more difficult for me to write in the aspect of the fact that I didn't want to tread on other people's personalities. This is one of those RP's that just sort of stick out to you when you read the pre-RP description and because of that, I joined in. I'm glad I did. It was fun to explore my own thoughts and feelings for once, and how I'd react if something near and dear to me was taken. While fun, this RP had a dark undercurrent in some parts, which added to the enjoyment, as well as the mystery of exactly what was going on. There were some bumpy patches in this RP, but as a whole, this RP was one of my favorites, and it was a pleasure, nay, an honor to be in.

Zuntrios was the ninth person to join Creator's Quest. He wrote 7.35% of the story, doing so in sixteen posts.

Armadox     Armadox was unavailable for comment. He was the second person to join Creator's Quest. He wrote 6.00% of the story, doing so in eight posts.
Elec     One of my favorite parts was the part in which the creators fought their characters. Strangely enough, at first I thought I wouldn't like it, but it turned out to be quite enjoyable. As for why I didn't think I'd like it, good question; but I don't know either! Actually, I probably just wasn't in a very good mood at that time. When I'm in a bad mood virtually everything seems to look bad.
There was also a portion of it that I didn't like that I thought looked pretty cool at first. This was the battle against the Takht-Verbotens. After the first round or so, everything just froze up, apparently due to lack of ideas. However, the rest of the RP more or less made up for this minor setback. The final battle didn't disappoint either. It's obvious that a lot of hard work went into this RP. Great job, Matthias!

Here we have fun facts about the role-play.

        · When the move from VGRP to RP Haven occurred, several RPs fell to the wayside. Creator's Quest is the fourth RP to have survived the transition and reached completion.
        · This RP makes several references to other RPs. The worlds of Arden's Blessing and Double Dash Tournament are traveled through, and characters from various RPs obviously make their appearance.
