It is the year 1337 of the Age of Cheese, and here in a generic town lives a human named Ridge and his friend, known as Ridge's Friend. They live peacefully, but their lives are turned upside-down in an all-of-a-sudden type of way and they must set forth to save the world! Started by FireMario on Monday, January 26, 2004, and finished on Sunday, March 14, 2004, this is a parody of Vash's awe-inspiring series The Blade of Fate.

| FireMario | Heh, so The Blade of Fake makes its way to the Hall of Fame. Well, let's see.
The Blade of Fake is nothing but a reasonably amusing little story that pokes some fun at RPG clichés and some other stuff, disguised as a semi-random parody of Vash's masterpiece
The Blade of Fate. It's not too long. In fact, if my calculations are correct, it ran for about six or so weeks. Of course, it was my first RP experience ever, and I'm glad to say it was fun, although right now I'm not sure how well this RP stands the test of time. I've come a long way since then. To tell the truth, I must say I used to think
The Blade of Fake was an awesomely fantastic RP back in its time. Nowadays, however, I just think of it as an okay story that can still be entertaining as long as you don't expect amazing stuff from it. Here's an interesting fact. I used to have more free time back then, and in fact I had a policy which -as far as I can remember- I upheld throughout most of the RP: I was to post once a day no matter what. And I did, for the most part at least. I managed to consistently post once a day, up until near the end of the RP, when classes began. Well, I can't think of anything else to say. I guess that would be it. FireMario started The Blade of Fake, and was therefore the first person to join it. He wrote 63.13% of the story (over half of it!), doing so in thirty-eight posts. He now goes by the name GeminiSaint. |
| Elec | Well it was interesting. While it wasn't the first RP of it's kind I've done, it's the first one that poked fun at an actual RP. All in all it was fun.
Elec was the second person to join this RP. She wrote 16.01% of the story, doing so in thirty-one posts. |
| Thalzon | The Blade of Fake was a fine RP, even for a parody. The cast was genuinely interesting for the most part. I didn't really care for how it turned serious near the end, though. It felt like the RP lost its edge. In the end, though, it was a satisfying RP to be in.
Thalzon was the fifth, and last person, to join this RP. He wrote 9.85% of the story, doing so in twenty posts. He now goes by the name Corey. |
| Lamur | The Blade of Fake was one of those RPs that stood out the moment I saw its name. While my contributions were pitiful, it was still a good experience. This RP also parodied
cliché plot devices. Cliché plot devices, as well as GodMods, must die! Lamur was the third person to join The Blade of Fake. He wrote 5.99% of the story, doing so in ten posts. |
| Fgdtdtdtdr | Fgdtdtdtdr was unavailable for comment. He was the fourth person to join this RP, and wrote 5.00% of the story, doing so in ten posts. |

| Ricky | Well, it's not exactly the best story in the world, but it still provides an interesting read. Parts of it tend to drag out, some of the humor is so forced it stops being funny, and the sudden switch from comedy to tragedy at the end was rather out of place, but all in all, this is a decent little story. |

I enjoyed this immensely. I couldn’t stop laughing, much to the
annoyance of all around me. Some parts of it actually made my burst out
a huge “Guffaw” While they may not be as funny to others, they hit
my funny bone with just the right stroke.
I
can’t even look at it without breaking a grin. Plus, a license to
life?! That was an amazing "WTF?!" moment right there. The
ending, while generically obvious, was still pretty good. All in all, a
great job, and I will be reading this over again, any time I’m feeling
down and need a good laugh. It was that good. |

Blade of Fake was the first RP I read, I loved it! The humor was priceless and after reading it I joined in on the RP scene immediately, hoping that one day I could match that humor. I still dream. My two favorite parts were:
and the part with Phoebe from Friends as a boss. |
