What do you do if the nameless village you live in is attacked by bandits? You hire seven -not more, not less, exactly seven- warriors to protect it. Now, what happens if among these seven warriors there's a perpetually drunken woman, a happy-go-lucky zombie girl, an overweight guy, a merry hair stylist, a token scantily-clad curvalicious woman, a dangerous ninja deishling, and a generic moronic elf teen? Well, United Spirits VII happens. Started by GeminiSaint on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, and finished on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, this is a parody of Matthias' Seven Spirits Unite!

GeminiSaint

To quote Britney Spears: "Oops, I did it again!"
Yeah, this one came out with little to no pre-planning, a rarity in me. It was a spur of the moment, fueled by Corey's comment of "I smell a parody" after I made a few silly plays on words about Matthias' Seven Spirits Unite in the #rphaven chat room. I didn't think it over. I just thought "why the heck not?". The very day after that, without notice, United Spirits VII began its life on the RP board of RP Haven.
The RP itself didn't make much noise, since it only attracted four more people besides me. Also, Thalzon was notably absent in this endeavor, and two people dropped out near the end, leaving only Elec and Wizard to accompany me in the remainder of the ride. And it was a fun ride, although slow at times: I had to double-post and checkerboard-post several times throughout the course of the RP in order to keep it moving at a steady rate.
Anyway, I'm very satisfied with how it all turned out. We had a fantastic cast of characters and top-quality posts (except for some of MythGuyDK's, who would go way overboard with the randomness more often than not). By the way, Wizard, a newcomer to my RPs, did a surprisingly good job. The fact he has obviously read the original story helped a lot too. And that was a pleasant surprise.
My favorite character? I liked them all, and I can't choose a favorite. All of these characters had a role to play, and there was no "dead weight" in the group, thankfully. Anyway, if I were forced to pick just one, I'd pick Rose. There's something about a cheerful, happy-go-lucky zombie girl, that's simply irresistible.
As for my favorite scene, well, the RP is full of cool moments, but I think the one that stands out the most, for reasons of its own, is the Bonus Scene after the "credits roll". That extra scene is somewhat of a special reward for people who have been following my other parody RPs, especially Void of Delusions 2. I think it provided the perfect closure for United Spirits VII.
That said, I had a lot of fun doing this RP, and I thank all who have taken part in it, readers and players alike. I hope you all had a lot of fun too!

GeminiSaint started United Spirits VII, and was thus the first person to join. He wrote 57.67% of the story, doing so in seventeen posts.

Wizard

It was fun, but I had a feeling that I didn't really fit in with the crowd...
Anyway, my favorite part was when Bopple sumo-wrestled the bulldozers. Seriously, what kind of nutcase thinks of something like that?

Wizard was the fifth and last person to join the role-play. He wrote 16.44% of the story, doing so in nine posts.

Elec     There was a nice variety of characters, from the funloving, yet undead Rose to the fuzzy but somewhat violent Ratgirl. And we can't forget George and his... alternative lifestyle, and the slighty dimwitted Hi.
As for scenes, nothing beat the bonus scene with the zombie Freako! The battle was great, but nothing can beat someone not reading a sign and then burying their dead best friend in a cemetery that turns dead people into zombies. As long as it's all in good fun of course. I fully enjoyed United Spirits VII in spite of the fact that I was short on time and that I was going through my obligatory seasonal dry-spell.

Elec was the second person to join the role-play. She wrote 11.22% of the story with ten posts.

Robert     Ahh, now I'm starting to see the connection... which would apparently mean this wasn't GeminiSaint's last parody, either. It was a rather short one, but it could be partially our fault for the faltering interest at the end. And Bopple got to play as a grand hero in the end, so I'm muchly satisfied with his role. (thinking of it, Quise is the only GeminiSaint-parody character of mine that hasn't died... oh, guess who might be making a comeback?) It was a refreshing RP to be part of; always fun to have somewhere to exhale your randomness.

Robert was the fourth person to join United Spirits VII. He wrote 7.35% of the story in four posts. He used to go by the username Horn.

MythGuyDK     Well... United Spirits VII was a fun experience. I hadn't read the fiction it was based off of, though. Had I done so I think the quality of my posts would have been much better. My favorite moments were with the references to Hi's chest and the parts with name confusion. I actually thought of the name 'Some Cool Name' because I thought to myself "What is some cool name for this character? Wait, it's a parody! Some Cool Name!". I really wish I had been more active in the RP, but I was kinda distracted with Polarity, so I dropped it. I was going to post something at the end having to do with the 'rock of sub-plot signifigance', but I had a few logon problems for a few days, and it was over... oh, well.
My favorite part was probably the "Simple. I landed on my feet." part.
On a whole, the RP was great and, while I wish I had been more active, I think I would've bogged the RP down.

MythGuyDK was the third person to join the role-play. He wrote 4.49% of the story, doing so in six posts.

Here we have fun facts about the role-play.

        · This RP is a parody of Matthias' Seven Spirits Unite, which was based off The Seven Samurais -a classic Japanese tale.
        · This RP has received comments from all players involved, a rarity around these pages. Not that it was accomplished without some prodding, though.
        · This RP has a few links to Void of Delusions 2; however, reading it is not required to understand the story in United Spirits VII.
        · This story is the shortest RP to date (February 2007), with only 48 posts. However, this isn't detrimental to its quality. The author says it lasted what it had to last: not more, not less.
