What is this?
This is a comic book I made back in 1996. It's the fourth episode in the Coy saga (there are five).
Why did I decide to upload the 4th episode? Why didn't I start from episode 1? Well; parts 1 to 3 suck. It's simple as that.
Coy 4, while still having some dated artwork, is nowhere as ugly as, say, Coy 1. In fact, Coy 4 has some nice-looking pictures here and there, and it gets better as the story moves on. In fact, since I never quit drawing, my art style kept evolving, and you can see its current state in my little art gallery.
Plot-wise, Coy 4 is still quite solid and enjoyable, just the beginning is kind of weak. At least you don't really need to know what exactly happened in the previous episodes. Of course there are some bits of ingenuity in there, but you can ignore them.

Advice: Don't be scared by the early, quasi-simpsonesque artwork; just let yourself enjoy the story.
You will like it :)

Story summary
This story happened in mid-late nineties. There is an object of unknown origin called 'Great Mystic Medallion'. It grants its wielder amazing powers beyond human comprehension. Such a dangerous object was kept safe by the guardians of the Planetoid, a distant world. However, something terrible happened. One of the guardians went berserk and stole the medallion. His name was Bhan.

Several battles raged across the universe, and the war eventually reached planet Earth, our homeworld. Bhan rose to power as Super Bhan, but the fight wasn't over. A courageous inhabitant of planet Snailworld named Coy, along with the bravest warriors on Earth, defeated Super Bhan in a crucial battle in Argentina. Peace returned quickly but... for how long?

Notes on translation
I'm Argentinian, so Coy 4's original language is Spanish. I translated it to English to the best of my abilities. However, the language barrier is there. You may -and will- run into many syntax errors. However, I believe no error is bad enough as to prevent you from understanding the plot.

Onomatopoeias (Thud! Slam! Bang! and the such) are NOT translated. Anyway, it's not like they will pose a problem to you :)

I changed a couple of names to make this English version more USA-friendly.

The files are highly compressed JPGs (level set at 80-85%). The artwork survives this to a certain extent, but you will notice some fuzzyness around letters. It had to be done this way. I have to keep files as small as possible because of restricted web space and bandwith.

The characters
Here are the profiles for the most prominent characters in this story. The stars are some sort of importance-o-meter. 1 star characters aren't as 'important' to the plot as 5 star characters.
Again, I made this in 1996. Don't expect stunning artwork nor amazing character designs. The pictures are highly outdated, but the plot is still quite solid and enjoyable.

Coy COY

He's the hero of this story. Coy is a snail. No. You didn't read wrong. Coy is a sentient snail from a far-away planet called Snailworld. Oh, please stop laughing. This is serious. Just don't let him scare you away from this comic :)
He met John in critical circumstances, in the middle of the war against the power-crazed Bhan. They became best friends and always fought together in the many battles against Bhan's forces.
Coy has a strong sense of justice. He will always fight the forces of evil, whatever form they take.

John JOHN

(original name: Facundo)
He's the other main character. He found his path in life when he met Coy. He has never avoided a battle against evil since then. However, being as strong as he is, John could never defeat Black-Nemesis, Bhan's most powerful soldier.

Steve STEVE

(original name: Matías)
He led the underground group 'Oplu' against Super Bhan's evil ruling during John and Coy's long-time absence. Having a strong will, he managed to assemble and maintain the 'Oplu' organization until the arrival of John and Coy.

Bhan BHAN

This madman came from a distant world simply known as the 'Planetoid'. He wore the almighty 'Great Mystic Medallion', an ancient pendant with amazing powers. Using it as a necklace, Bhan had invincibility status and full access to its raw power, turning him into the mightiest entity in the universe.
He created his own son by cloning his DNA. Both Bhan and Bhan Jr., using the power of the medallion, merged into an incredibly powerful entity called Super Bhan. In order to defeat him, Coy had to merge with another Snailworldian (Kyo) to become Super Coy.
After Bhan's defeat, he, his son Bhan Jr. and his best warrior Black-Nemesis, all fled to another dimension. Problem is, nobody ever escaped from another dimension. But...

Robert Nelson ROBERT NELSON

This American was the muscled guy in Steve's 'Oplu' organization. Robert had also searched for his long-lost sister. He was in for a major surprise when he finally discovered that Violet was no other than Christine Nelson, his beloved sister.

Christine Nelson CHRISTINE NELSON

This young woman got separated from his brother Robert at an early age. She fell victim of a strange incident, and as a result, she lost all her memories and awoke as Violet, the scissors-wielding woman. With a new-found dominant personality, she assembled his own small army -the Scarlet Brotherhood- and started her own war against Super Bhan.
Once the fight was over, the power of the retrieved medallion got rid of her blades and restored her memories. Both brothers were once again reunited.
As this story begins, both Robert and Christine Nelson pack their things and board an airplane to the USA. However...

Tauman TAUMAN

This man was born and raised in the Planetoid. Both he and his best friend Bhan were in charge of guarding the Mystic Medallion. Tauman and Bhan were best friends. However, something happened... Bhan, once a kind man, somehow turned into the very incarnation of evil. He betrayed his friend and took the Medallion for himself, thus starting an insane quest for world domination.
Ever since then, Tauman kept trying to figure out what happened to Bhan; what changed him into a wicked madman. As this story starts, Tauman is very close to a stunning discovery...

Black-Nemesis BLACK-NEMESIS

(original name: Malvado Negro)
The only survivor of the five Colored-Nemesis created by Bhan Jr. Black-Nemesis was also the stronger soldier Bhan has ever had. He had some encounters with John, and a grudge grew between them. John never managed to defeat him in battle.
After the events in Coy 3 (unreleased), Black-Nemesis vanished to another dimension along with his bosses, unless...

Bhan Jr. BHAN JUNIOR

Bhan's son, created through DNA clonation. Being so young, he is known for his scientist inclination. He made several devices and machines for his father, including the mind-control device.

Roy ROY

A xhull -an alien race- Roy's past involves Bhan killing his family and friends. He chased Bhan to Earth, where he met 'Oplu' members Steve, Kyo and Robert. After Super Bhan's defeat, Roy gathered his people and went to Uranus, where he intends to settle.

Almedor ALMEDOR

Nothing is known about this man. Nobody has ever saw the face behind the mask. Almedor's superior powers are undoubted, though. His dark, evil schemes seem to include installing some special kind of devices called 'Magnifyers'. Reptarr, the mighty lizard warrior, is one of his loyal servants.

Reptarr REPTARR

Wielder of the Crystal Sword, he introduces himself as 'the Supreme Warrior of the Red Flame'. Reptarr is a lizard man and a powerful warrior under Almedor's orders. He's often seen around with a blue snake called 'Coral' wrapped around his neck. Reptarr regards this snake as his best friend and partner.

Dave DAVE

(original name: Ramiro)
This guy is deemed weak and fearful. However, nobody knows Dave has a mystical mask he found a long time ago. This mask grants him a great power. When he dons it, he becomes the mighty Mystery Ninja. Dave keeps his other identity a secret to everyone. On an unrelated note, Dave is brother of the as of now retired Scarlet Brotherhood quartet.

Mystery Ninja MYSTERY NINJA

(original name: Ninja Misterio)
Dave's secret identity. He appears, saves the day, then disappears. He never stays on the battlefield more time than strictly necessary. John and the others still wonder who on Earth this mysterious warrior is.
